KINGSTON, TN: The Watts Bar Belle Riverboat docked in Kingston provides a strategic waypoint for bus tourists venturing westward to the Cumberland County Playhouse, agree riverboat captain Dave Westberg and Cumberland County Playhouse Concert and Tour Administrator Buster Irvin.
The Cumberland County Playhouse entertains over 145,000 visitors annually and is one of the ten largest performing theaters in rural America. Located in Crossville, the theater features such notable performances in 2007 as Smoke on the Mountain Homecoming, Little Women, Guys & Dolls, and Death of a Salesman. Musical performances on tap will feature (in part) Guy Lombardo, the Ink Spots and the Nashville Jazz Orchestra.
"We offer special rates for groups of fifteen people or more," said Irvin. "Many church groups attend our shows and probably 25% of them would be interested in stopping on the way here to take a ride on the riverboat."
To successfully match the group rates offered by the Playhouse, the Watts Bar Belle Riverboat Company has specially discounted rates for groups of at least fifteen passengers. Groups of twenty or more will receive the special rates plus one free ticket. All prices listed include tax, and all times listed are in Eastern Standard Time. The rates per individual are:
Luncheon Cruises, 11:30 am - 1:30 pm , Monday - Saturday $27.55
Sightseeing Cruises, 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm, Monday - Saturday $16.70
Alive @ 5 Cruises, 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm, Monday - Friday $21.64
Dinner Cruises, 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm, Fridays $32.47
Dinner Cruises, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Sundays $32.47
Dinner Cruises, 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm, Saturdays $38.39
Sunday Lunch Cruise, 1:15 pm - 3:15 pm $27.55
"It only makes sense to match the group pricing offered by the Playhouse," said Captain Westberg.
The Playhouse will offer the Watts Bar Belle Riverboat as an added attraction for its tour groups who pass Kingston's exit 352 on I-40 on their way to Crossville. For further information on the Watts Bar Belle Riverboat group tour rates, contact Westberg at 865-376-5995.
